Welcome to Lost Coast Weaving Studio!

Situated in a beautiful and remote location in the mountains of Northern California,
Lost Coast Weaving Studio has looms and equipment for weaving and a separate room for dyeing,
surrounded by forest and amazing views.

Lost Coast Weaving Studio is the workplace of weaver and dyer Linda Hartshorn.
Join Linda for a weaving class or retreat-style workshop. The class schedule can be found at http://lindahartshorn.com/schedule.html.

Beginning and Intermediate Weaving at LCWS

Learn about weaving and create a beautiful textile! Beginners will warp a loom and weave a sampler and a scarf in wool yarn. They will try out different yarns and weave structures, and learn basic drafting. Intermediates will learn more about weaving as they create a special project of their choice. We will be weaving on table looms which you can take home between classes. The class meets for six weeks.

Weaving Workshop Retreats

Our Workshop Retreats are perfect for the adventurous weaver or dyer. Come out for a weekend and take a workshop in the beautiful mountains of California's Lost Coast. Meals will be provided, and there is space to camp or sleep slumber-party style in the studio. Rag Rug Weaving, Woven Shibori and other workshop retreats are forthcoming. Check the schedule at http://lindahartshorn.com/schedule.html.

About the Studio

Lost Coast Weaving Studio is located in the Mattole Valley near Honeydew, California. Construction was recently completed in December 2014. The studio currently has six Schacht table looms, three Baby Wolf looms and two computer-assisted Louet Megado looms. More looms are sure to follow! The dye studio, located downstairs, contains a full complement of dye equipment, a stove and a large stainless commercial sink.

The studio is located one mle from the paved road and is "off the grid". It is surrounded by forest and mountains. We have cell phone service and there is a small store and gas station four miles away.
